My group has just developed a 2 nanometer alumina fiber that is two orders of magnitude smaller
than any other commercially available alumina and/or silicon carbide fiber. They have a diameter of 2 nanometers, and a remarkably high surface area: 500-600 m2/g.with an aspect ratio (AR) ranging from 20 to 100. We have learned that the fibers are likely to form superior ceramic
membranes and membrane reactors because of the higher surface area. Are there any membrane research groups that focus on nanofiltration and biomedical applications? |
