I need to filter digested samples into a 1" x 2" autosampler cup (diameter is 1"). We have found that using a pleated filter paper binds the mercury and we end up with a loss. We are interested in some sort of a filter media or funnel that can be either disposed of re-cleaned and used. Some samples warrant filtering to prevent plugging the narrow pump tubing lines.

We have experimented with a filter sample that someone provided for us. The information provided on the bag says "Spectrum", Houston TX and the item appears to be identified as "Spectra/mesh 70 um, #146476". This particular filter did work for us. If you sell this product, please let me know the cost and ordering information. Or, if you have an alternative suggestion, I would appreciate it.

Part 147476 was a 30 x 30 cm square of a woven Teflon mesh with a 70 micron pore size. This was sold by Spectrum Laboratories (www.spectrapor.com) but they have discontinued it.

I'm not sure how much of this material you are looking for. It's used by Spectrum Chromatography (www.lplc.com) in their columns and they sell some discs and cut pieces as replacement parts.
