| Can ultrafiltration be used on solventbased acrylics to remove all polymers with M.W. < 1000 Daltons? | | |

 | It depends on what you need to have leave and what you need to keep. Ultrafiltration would not be useful for separating a 1000 MW polymer from a 1300 MW polymer.
But, if you're looking remove all of the < 1000 and keep all of the > 5000 with wome losses in the 1000 to 5000 range, then ultrafiltration would be a good choice.
I don't remember off the top of my head which solvents are used in making acrylics, so I can't recommend any particular product. The selection of a product would also depend upon your sample volume.
