How is the ideal cross flow velocity determined?
Is cross flow velocity (Retentate flow)/(Membrane area).

I asked a salesman for a recirculation rate for a spiral membrane (5.5 m^2 - active area)and he said I must run at a cross flow velocity of 6 m^3/hr. Since when is velocity measured in m^3/hr? Can I use this flow as my recirculation flow?

How do I know what is the current cross flow velocity whilst running a membrane?

Any more info on flitration, kindly pass on.

Thank you
