¿Can we use yours membranes for milk concentration? and ¿Where we can find the procedure to clean the membranes?
We have a krosflow pilot unit

I want to know if we can use the Krosflo pilot system pilot to milk concentration and if there are some cleaning recomendation for flux regenerata after processing.

Although our KrosFlo Pilot System and membrane modules are more commonly used for processing cells, pharmaceuticals and diagnostic particles, you should be able to concentrate milk with our hollow fiber membranes. Spectrum has not investigated the application and can not provide specific process parameter information.  The extent of concentration one can achieve concentrating milk with this system is unknown.  A concentration of 4 times is probable.  This will need to be determined.  I suggest that the feasibility of this application be attempted on a smaller volume scale with our MidiKros or MiniKros Sampler Plus modules.  The process parameters can then be scaled up for production levels.

Spectrum's hollow fiber membrane modules are intended for disposable use. Forward and reverse flushing can be used to attempt to recover flux rates. However, we don't recommend cleaning the module for re-use.

Thanks for visiting.
