Elimination of Pluronic detergent from monoclonal supernatant.lsinor2002-09-25Click here to register.
We currently purchase raw monoclonal supernatant from a contract manufacturer that contains the detergent Pluronic (used to control bubble formation in bioreactor). Has anyone had experience in removing detergents (e.g. Plurinics) from monoclonal supernatant? Would SeleXtrac product be a candidate?

Well, it is determined by what size in daltons the Pluronic agent is.  If the agent is relatively small, dialysis can be used to purify the antibody supernatant (antibodies are usually 150kd).  If not, Selextrac might be used, I am not sure how it would work with the detergent.  So find the size of the agent and go from there.
