Methanol FractionationDavid2002-07-16Click here to register.
I am trying to fractionate my methanol seed extract ( =2g of material) and thought size fractionation may help. The extract appears to primarily contain sugars, and the compound(s) which I am after are also suspected to be sugars, but with additional functional groups. We believe the main contaminating sugar to be sucrose (MW 342) and the
compound(s) we are after is/are probably a trisaccharide or tetrasaccharide with additional functional groups. That is, we don't
know what MW our unknown compound(s) is/are, but we want to try and limit the search down to some MW ranges to help the process. (We can then test which fraction(s) is/are positive for our material). The extract is soluble in aqueous methanol or water.

Would you please advise me which product(s) would help me to do this, their price and availability in Australia. I believe the only MWCO's you supply which would be required are 2k, 1k, 500 and 100 (most fractionation is probably required between 100 and 500MW).

If samples are available please send them ASAP.

Thanks for visiting.
