Multiple use Dialyzers, temperature sensativitylungman2001-06-15Click here to register.
As I am new to this site, I do not know if I can use product and Company names when asking questions. My Problem is that I want to hydrate an atmosphere using a popular multiple use dialyzer. I am using a water bath that approaches 200 degrees F. My dialyzer potting material is failing and the fibers are being pushed into the membrane tube. The atmosphere we want to humidify is being pumped through the internal side of the membrane. The heated and humidified atmosphere we are using to accomplish the humidification is being drawn through the outside of the hollow fibers. We want to maintain high flow rates through the system. Are there any manufacturers out there that can do the job with a hollow membrane filter at a cost of $200.00 or less per unit? If you contact me, I will tell you the type of dializer we want to approximate. The Brand will be known to anyone in the renal dialysis business. We can give the model number etc. to permit you to identify the type we need. My user name is lungman. Any help will be much appreciated.

Anything you want to say is fine.

The urethane that Spectrum Laboratories (formerly Medical) uses on their cartridges is supposed to be able to handle the temperatures you describe. I don't know how much their cartridges cost and I doubt that they will recognize a renal dialyzer by brand name; their dialyzer are not medical products.

You can call them during the day at 800-634-3300 (press 3 for technical service). If you have phone trouble you can email their technical service person at jpartee@spectrumlabs.com.
